Sports Radio Network to webcast 2002 NCAA Division II Mens Basketball Tournament - Northeast Regional

Internet-based station will present live coverage of Bentley, Assumption and UMass Lowell games

Sports Radio Network (WSRN) will be presenting live and exclusive audio game coverage of select games from the 2002 NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championship - Northeast Regional - emanating from The Clark Center on the campus of SUNY Old Westbury.

The internet-based station will begin its coverage on Thursday evening with a match-up of two of Massachusetts' basketball powers, as the fourth-seeded UMass Lowell River Hawks (19-8) clash with the fifth-seeded Bentley Falcons (20-9). Start time is 7:30, with Sports Radio Network's pre-game coverage to begin at 7:15.

The UMass-Lowell-Bentley winner will meet the top-seeded and regional hosts Adelphi (26-2) on Friday evening at 7:30. Sports Radio Network will have live coverage, pre-game coverage to begin at 7:15.

The second-seeded Assumption Greyhounds (23-5) will make their tournament debut Friday evening, as they meet the winner of third-seeded Pace and sixth-seeded Queens, N.Y. (19-10). Start time is 5:30, with Sports Radio Network's coverage set to begin at 5:15.
Winners will advance to Saturday's regional final at 7:30. Should Bentley, Assumption or UMass Lowell advance to the finals, Sports Radio Network will carry live coverage. Pre-game festivities to begin at 7:15. At stake, will be a trip to the NCAA Men's Division II Elite Eight in Evansville, Indiana.

The webcasts will be presented live and exclusively on the internet, and can be accessed from Sports Radio Network's official website at http://www.sportsradionet.com. Archived games will also be available on demand following the completion of the tournament.

"We are excited to be involved with the tournament," said play-by-play announcer and WSRN's CEO Rob Goldenberg. "It will be a great way for Sports Radio Network to increase its exposure and also a great opportunity for the fans of the participating teams to follow the action."

Sports Radio Network's broadcast team will feature Rob Goldenberg at play-by-play and color analyst Marc Goldenberg behind the mic.

Sports Radio Network is attempting to capitalize on the growing popularity of web-based sports programming.
Already the exclusive broadcast partner of the National Women's Basketball League (NWBL), Sports Radio Network will present live coverage of the leagues' Pro Cup Tournament March 26-28th.

Sports Radio Network has also partnered with the United States Basketball League. After webcasting 13 regular season games, for the league's Long Island Surf franchise, WSRN presented exclusive live coverage of the 2001 USBL Championship tournament from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

This past year, WSRN also introduced High School Football to its schedule webcasting regular season and playoff games from Long Island, New York.

Dedicated to the production and broadcasting of high quality live sporting events and other sports entertainment, Sports Radio Network is unique in that it targets professional and high school teams that have limited radio and television exposure.
"I feel that there is a legitimate niche that we can fill. By utilizing the technology the internet offers teams can take advantage of a practically limitless audience," said Goldenberg.
