To webcast 2001 USBL Post-Season Festival |
Sports Radio Network (WSRN) will be presenting live game coverage of the 10th annual United States Basketball League post-season tournament beginning this Friday, and running though Sunday. All games will take place at Stabler Arena on the campus of Lehigh University in Pennsylvania. WSRN will be webcasting select tournament games live on the internet, including both of the USBL's semifinal games on Saturday, and the championship game on Sunday. Additionally, WSRN will present the quarterfinal game between the Long Island Surf and Oklahoma Storm on a tape-delay basis on Saturday at 1 PM. The webcasts can either be accessed from the USBL's official site http://www.usbl.com, the Long Island Surf's official team website at http://www.longislandsurfonline.com or from http://www.sportsjuice.com. Affiliated with over 30 professional, college and high school teams, Sportsjuice.com the leader in sports webcasting. "This is a big opportunity for us," said play-by-play announcer and WSRN's CEO Rob Goldenberg. "I think this gives us the chance to get some exposure outside the New York area and continue to build our credibility as a leader in the market." Goldenberg will handle the play-by-play responsibilities, while Alon Avital will provide game analysis. The duo has worked together for the last eight years, having broadcasted high school and college football, along with college basketball. "I am really excited about this," said Avital. "Rob and I have had the chance to broadcast sports for nearly the last decade and this weekends tournament will definitely be one of the highlights." Sports Radio Network began its relationship with the USBL this past season, introducing live internet broadcasts of the Long Island Surf. Additionally, it designed the team's official web site http://www.longislandsurfonline.com. With the broadcast rights to the USBL Post Season Tournament
and Long> Island Surf already in place, Sports Radio Network expects
to announce a live sports call in show sometime in the fall of 2001
and could be introducing a High School Football Game of the Week next
season.
