Sports Radio Network, T & D Sports and Farmingdale State to present Live Video and Audio Webcasts of Playoff Action 2/21 - Farmingdale State Lady Rams vs. Manhattanville
5:45 PM |
| Sports Radio Network (www.sportsradionet.com) and T & D Sports Video Productions (www.tdsportsvideo.com) and The Farmingdale State Athletics Department will be teaming up to provide live audio and video webcasts of the upcoming Skyline Men’s and Women’s Conference Tournament. The coverage will kick off with women’s basketball on Tuesday, February 21 at 5:45, when Third-seeded Farmingdale State (8-3) will host sixth-seeded Manhattanville (4-8). Immediately following that game will be men’s quarterfinal action. For the second straight season, Farmingdale State University earns the top seed in the eight-team tournament. The Rams, who finished Skyline Conference play with a 12-2 record will play Kings Point (5-9). During
the regular season, Farmingdale State and eighth-seeded Kings Point
(5-9) split their two games. The Mariners earned a 30-point victory
in Kings Point, N.Y., on Jan. 19, snapping the Rams' 22-game conference
winning streak. Farmingdale earned a 74-63 win on its home court on
February 1.
The program is moving in the right direction. In 2003, Farmingdale State’s women’s basketball team received a bid to the NCAA Tournament. Last season, the men’s basketball team went undefeated in the conference during the regular season. To add to that, Farmingdale State had their first NCAA Champion last year in Indoor Track, they are close to finishing up the new baseball stadium and just added women’s lacrosse as the 16th Intercollegiate sport. According to Associate AD Tom Azzara, “the department is excited to broaden the exposure of our athletics program and we hope to expand further after seeing the type of feedback we receive from the broadcast.” “We are excited
to team up with Farmingdale State,” said play-by-play announcer
and Sports Radio Network’s CEO Rob Goldenberg. “The internet
will give us the ability to offer the most comprehensive coverage possible
with our audio and video webcasts of the games, and will also continue
to develop the importance of the internet and its emergence as a legitimate
form of broadcast media.” Sports Radio Network – a full service broadcasting outlet for amateur and professional sports –has been broadcasting live sporting events and other sports entertainment for the last four years. Using the internet as its medium, the company has reached fans in more than 15 countries, including Canada, Israel, Australia, France, Great Britain, Switzerland and Belgium with their coverage of the United States Basketball League (USBL) and the National Women’s Basketball League (NWBL). Their partnership originally began in 2003 when they covered the New York Collegiate Athletic Conference (NYCAC) women’s and men’s basketball championship games, providing live audio coverage via the internet, as well as distributing the game throughout the tri-state area for a tape-delay television presentation. This past year T & D Sports and Sports Radio Network teamed up to produce a High School Football Game of the Week exclusively for the internet with. An audio stream of each game was webcasted live via the internet, and then a video stream was aired on a tape-delayed, pay-per-view basis later that same day.
