Farmingdale, NY – The Farmingdale State Athletics Department will be teaming up with Sports Radio Network (www.sportsradionet.com) and T & D Sports Video Productions (www.tdsportsvideo.com) in 2006, to provide live audio and video web-casts of select men’s and women’s basketball games during the second half of the 2005-06 basketball season. An audio and video stream of each game will be webcasted live via the internet, All coverage can be accessed from Farmingdale State's (http://www.farmingdalesports.com), Sports Radio Network’s (http://www.sportsradionet.com) and T & D Sports Video Productions (http://www.tdsportsvideo.com) official web-sites. The Video webcasts will offer an exciting change for Farmingdale State’s Athletics. Athletic Director Mike Harrington is excited to see the programs improve each year, “we love to expose our student-athletes, at the Division III level its tough to get your name out there, especially since we are a small school who moved up into the NCAA just five years ago.” The program is moving in the right direction. In 2003, Farmingdale State’s women’s basketball team received a bid to the NCAA Tournament. Last season, the men’s basketball team went undefeated in the conference during the regular season. To add to that, Farmingdale State had their first NCAA Champion last year in Indoor Track, they are close to finishing up the new baseball stadium and just added women’s lacrosse as the 16th Intercollegiate sport. According to Associate AD Tom Azzara, “the department is excited to broaden the exposure of our athletics program and we hope to expand further after seeing the type of feedback we receive from the broadcast.” Sports Radio Network
will be webcasting Farmingdale State’s men’s and women’s
basketball double-header against Skyline Conference rival St. Joseph’s
College on January 9th, 2006. The broadcast will begin shortly before
the women’s 5:00pm tip-off, while the men’s game will follow,
tentatively schedule for 7:00pm. Farmingdale has also decided to broadcast
the men’s basketball game against SUNY rival, Old Westbury, on
Monday, January 30th with coverage beginning shortly before 7:00pm.
Their partnership
originally began in 2003 when they covered the New York Collegiate Athletic
Conference (NYCAC) women’s and men’s basketball championship
games, providing live audio coverage via the internet, as well as distributing
the game throughout the tri-state area for a tape-delay television presentation. Robert Goldenberg Date of Press Release - 12/21/05 |
